Assetto Corsa#

Assetto Corsa runs with Proton-GE version 9-20 and later. This can be installed by a Proton manager like ProtonPlus.

The first run will install dependencies into the Proton prefix, be patient!

Modding#

The most commonly used method to load custom content is Content Manager.

  1. Download Content Manager and replace the original AssettoCorsa.exe (~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/assettocorsa/AssettoCorsa.exe) with the CM executable.
  2. Install DXVK: protontricks --no-background-wineserver 244210 dxvk
  3. Install Windows fonts: protontricks 244210 corefonts
  4. Download additional fonts and place into ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/assettocorsa/content/fonts/.

Do not create a Desktop Shortcut in CM!

Custom content#

All custom content is located in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/assettocorsa/content/.

To open acmanager://... links with CM add x-scheme-handler/acmanager=Assetto Corsa.desktop; to your MIME-types (~/.config/mimeapps.list). These links will only work if AC/CM are not already running!

[Issue] Black drop down menus#

If you have black menus in CM, disable transparent menus:

  1. Click the drop down next to the window decorators (it will be black)
  2. Click in the bottom 3/4ths (takes you to one of the three settings menus)
  3. Go to the “Content Manager” tab
  4. On the right side in the “System” group check “Disable windows transparency”
